Turkeys: Bronze
Each year we raise a small flock of turkeys for Thanksgiving and Christmas sales.
Broad Breasted Bronze Turkeys:
Our turkeys are pasture raised and in spite of everything we had heard about the problems in raising turkeys we have had few problems and find them easy and pleasurable to raise. The bronze birds, in particular, are friendly and curious and enjoy human company. The meat is tender and juicy with a fantastic flavour and quite unlike anything you are likely to find in store bought birds. They have all the greens they can eat in addition to grain with no additives.
Toms weigh between 15 - 25 lbs and Hens weigh between 9 - 15 lbs and sell for $4.00/lb

Large white turkeys
This year (2011) we experimented with the Large White Turkey and found they grew very quickly on pasture and garden greens in addition to a natural grain supplement. We found their meat tasty and juicy with good flavour and have received many favourable comments from customers.
White Toms weigh between 20 - 30 lbs and Hens weigh between 15 - 20 lbs and sell for $4.00/lb.
